DUBAI – Police in Dubai are accelerating their adoption of artificial intelligence and advanced technology, completing 104 strategic and operational projects and deploying 36 robots across policing and administrative functions over the past year.

The developments were reviewed by Lieutenant General Abdulla Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, during his annual inspection of the General Department of Artificial Intelligence. The inspection examined performance indicators, operational readiness and major technology initiatives supporting the force’s digital transformation.

The latest figures highlight the expanding role of technology across Dubai Police, with AI, robotics, data analysis and smart systems being integrated into a growing range of police and public service functions. The force is also maintaining high levels of digital service continuity as it develops new tools aimed at improving efficiency and the delivery of services.

Digital transformation

During the inspection, Lieutenant General Al Marri reviewed key statistics and performance indicators covering the department’s technology initiatives, digital transformation efforts and smart services.

The General Department of Artificial Intelligence completed 104 strategic and operational projects during the past year. The projects form part of Dubai Police’s broader efforts to introduce modern technologies across different policing sectors and strengthen operational efficiency.

The department’s work includes the development of smart systems and services designed to support police personnel, administrative teams and customers. The projects also contribute to the force’s efforts to build technological capabilities that can respond to changing operational requirements.

The inspection also covered Dubai Police’s robotics ecosystem, which currently comprises 36 robots carrying out various tasks and administrative operations.

The robots are being used to accelerate procedures, increase productivity and reduce routine workloads. Their deployment is intended to allow personnel to devote more time to specialised responsibilities and activities requiring greater human expertise.

Reliable services

Dubai Police has also recorded strong levels of technological reliability during the current year, with public service continuity reaching 99.97 percent and systems continuity standing at 99.92 percent.

The figures underline the readiness of the force’s technological infrastructure and its ability to maintain critical services. The continuity measures are part of efforts to ensure police systems and public-facing services remain reliable while new digital capabilities are introduced.

Lieutenant General Al Marri also reviewed the Dubai Police AI transformation plan, which includes initiatives aimed at expanding artificial intelligence across police, administrative and operational activities.

The plan focuses on converting data into practical tools that can support decision making and developing proactive solutions to improve response times, operational efficiency and service quality.

Among the systems reviewed was the Dubai Police AI platform, which provides technological capabilities for the workplace and supports the development of smart solutions. It is also designed to analyse data, automate procedures and provide intelligent tools for employees and customers.

Smarter stations

The inspection included a review of the smart assistant for Smart Police Stations, or SPS, as Dubai Police continues to develop technology-driven models for delivering police services.

The project supports the force’s vision for the next generation of police stations by using smart technologies to make security and policing services more accessible, faster and more flexible. It also aims to improve the customer experience through an integrated system capable of operating around the clock.

Innovation and intellectual property were also highlighted during the inspection. Projects and initiatives developed by the General Department of Artificial Intelligence have received seven awards and certificates of recognition, while 29 intellectual works have been registered.

The registrations reflect efforts to protect innovative work produced within the department and support specialists in developing technological ideas and solutions that can be implemented and maintained over the long term.

Human expertise

Lieutenant General Al Marri stressed the need to continue developing Dubai Police’s AI ecosystem and introducing modern technologies across police, administrative and operational functions to improve efficiency, speed and accuracy.

He said rapid technological development requires continued investment in specialised human talent alongside innovation. He highlighted the importance of combining advanced technology with human expertise and creating a flexible working environment capable of making effective use of emerging digital solutions.

He also stressed the need to strengthen readiness and business continuity while continuously improving systems and services to keep them seamless, secure and efficient.

Lieutenant General Al Marri thanked employees of the General Department of Artificial Intelligence for their work in advancing Dubai Police’s digital transformation and developing its technology ecosystem.

He called on teams to continue developing innovative projects and expand the application of AI across operations, with a focus on strengthening institutional performance and delivering advanced services for residents and visitors.
